DreamScreen uses digital signal processing to identify the frequencies and amplitudes in the audio stream. The frequency or pitch of the music controls the color and the amplitude of the music controls the amplitude. HDMI Resolution 

DreamScreen(TM) interfaces with standard 4K, 1080p, 1080i, 720p and 720i HDMI resolutions.It supports content at 60Hz, 50Hz. During the HDMI handshake, the television communicates directly with the source and dictates the available HDMI resolution and frame rate. DreamScreen will automatically switch to the correct frequency and resolution within a few seconds. DreamScreen is HDMI 1.4 capable and works with HDCP-encrypted content. 

Splitter Technology

An HDMI splitter is used to provide the source signal to both television and DreamScreen. Any off-the-shelf HDMI splitter can be used to provide content to DreamScreen. Don’t worry our standard package includes your very own HDMI splitter. It incorporates an HDCP repeater that ensures that high-resolution HDCP content is available to television and DreamScreen.

Smart LED Strips

Each of the DreamScreen LEDs contains a driver chip that allows for it to be controlled to 16 million colors. A high-speed communication from the stick passes through all the LEDs bringing high resolution and fast response to your television backlighting. The LED Strips have been custom designed for use in this application and are coated with a  polyurethane coating to make them dust and moisture proof while keeping them flexible for installation.

Three different sizes of DreamScreen are offered and each works for a range of television sizes. The flexible LED strips are easy to route around a television even when it is wall mounted. The wires connecting the strips are at right angles so that they do not stick up causing shadows.

Each model is designed to stretch between a range of television sizes.

Adhesive Strips

The LED strips placed on the back of your television are designed to be repositionable during installation. Easily adjust to properly fit your screen and enjoy a truly responsive home theater experience. The adhesive used is a 3M 300LSE that allows for excellent adhesion of the LED strips to your television. The adhesive features a built in polyester film liner that resists breakage during removal or repositioning. The adhesive strip also features a small tab for easy removal of the protective liner and application.

60Hz Update Speed

 DreamScreen reads the HDMI frame 60 times a second (typical frame rate of a HDMI stream). The content is analyzed, the backlighting content is calculated and the LEDs are updated at 60 times a second. This allows for rapid response when DreamScreen is used to dynamically enhance the content. As the color processing does not use an attached computer, the dedicated product produces the vivid backlighting without any delays. Call of Duty or your favorite Bruce Willis movie will never be the same!

 DreamScreen incorporates a Bluetooth Low Energy device to allow it to be controlled via a smartphone or tablet. The wireless link allows switching modes, changing brightness and other settings. 

Wide Screen Format Detection

Movies are often available in a widescreen letter boxing format. DreamScreen automatically identifies black spaces in the video stream on the top and bottom of the screen and uses color content below black spaces for LED light illumination. The detection is automatic. DreamScreen switches back to normal mode as soon as non-widescreen format is detected on the HDMI stream.

High Resolution

Most HDMI televisions have 1920 x 1080 pixels. That’s a lot of pixels! A backlight with two or a dozen addressable channels will not show the required detail. With DreamScreen, each light source is addressable and even the smallest size (Classic) has 48 addressable points (LEDs). (Mega has 72 LEDs and Xtreme has 96 LEDs) This ensures that more detail on the screen is carried to the backlight.

 Brightness Control

DreamScreen allows users to select between four brightness settings that are based on an array of ambient lighting. The brightness settings can be applied to video, music and ambient mode.

Zone Control

Each DreamScreen ships with enough light strips to line up the complete periphery of your television. However, the DreamScreen App and/or stick allows you to select which zone is activated. You can light up the top, the sides, or the whole TV. 

Low Standby Power

DreamScreen places all backlighting and HDMI components on a low power standby state when HDMI stream is not detected (i.e. when cable box, ChromeCast or gaming console is turned off) or when Standby/Sleep mode is enables on the App. In other words, in Video or Music Mode, turning off your HDMI source will turn off all the lights behind your television.

What if your pictures became donations? Polen Photos is a mobile app that transforms pictures into donations. It works through campaigns made between companies and charities. And to make this donation happen, the user only needs to take a picture.

    PRODUCTS & SERVICES

    Polen Photos transforms pictures into donations. Making campaigns between companies and charities, Polen allows the user to help a charity they like with one picture and not having to spend a penny for it. Made thinking about the user, Polen pictures is an intuitive and easy to use mobile app. The MVP version is available in android and Portuguese.
    The steps for the user are very simple:
    1 – Choose a campaign to help
    2 – Take a picture
    3- Select a sticker to decorate the picture
    4- Share!

    Each sticker in the pictures contains the company and the charity logo, this way we can involve customers into companies cause marketing campaigns in a very cost effective way.

    Corporate Social Responsibility is becoming more important every day, businesses need to have a bigger purpose other than profits, but taking such action is expensive for companies and the results are difficult to measure.

    REVENUE MODEL

    Our revenue model makes us the first picture app that monetises from every picture taken.The company and the charity set everything up before the campaign is live, deciding how much the donation is going to be and how much every picture is going to give.
    When the campaign is over, the company makes a direct donation to the charity and pays Polen a 20% commission on top of that, making this solution free for charities, free for people and even tax deductible for companies.
    We are also implementing the possibility of the user donating directly from the app, sponsoring his/her own picture. We offer promoting services for the company and the charity,that can be charged in the future as well.

    EXIT STRATEGY

    We plan another two rounds of investment series A and B to scale our operation though all America and Europe by the end of 2018. As we just started to operate in England, we don’t have a clear exit strategy yet, we focus on growing the business. But, potential acquisitions could come from fundraising companies or pictures or social media companies like Instagram and Facebook.

Tuckey Devlin leads the Company’s growth and development programming. He is a seasoned real estate and business development professional with over 28 years of experience in all aspects of the industries, including development, project and property management, finance, sales and leasing, food and beverage operations, tax planning, accounting and syndication. Since 1983, Mr. Devlin has been a principal in numerous real property businesses, including a Texas real estate management and syndication firm, two national apartment housing redevelopment companies and an international services company providing a wide array of real estate and financial services now supporting the development of Hemingway Hotel and Resorts projects. As a principal or owner’s representative, Mr. Devlin has executed various real estate projects totaling over $350,000,000 and has been responsible for the management and profitability of a diverse real estate portfolio in excess of $1 billion in five states. Mr. Devlin is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance and Real Estate.

Richard was born in London and at the age of 17 emigrated to the United States. Shortly after arriving in New York he began his career in hospitality, first as a mail and information clerk on the night shift at the Hilton Hotel in Mid-Town. Over the years, Richard worked his way through the ranks of the industry, beginning as a bellman and car park attendant in a Key Biscayne hotel and elevating himself to the lead position of General Manager of a 1,000+ room Hyatt. In 1984, Richard began working at Trust Hospitality (then called “Tecton Hospitality”). Throughout the next decade, under Richard’s leadership, Trust Hospitality successfully managed over 150 hotels as work-outs for the federal government and private banks. In 1995, Richard became the majority shareholder and President. In 2004, Richard launched the boutique division of Trust Hospitality and in 2008 formed Trust Hospitality International (formerly Desires Hotels International) in partnership with Michael Register. In 2010, Richard merged Trust Hospitality with Ocean Blue Hospitality and has partnered with Hemingway Hotels and Resorts. Today, as Co-Chairman, Millard focuses on strategic issues including financing the company’s growth plan and developing further strategic partnerships. The company continues to concentrate on resort and urban projects throughout the World.

Patrick Goddard has responsibility for the Company’s hotel operations worldwide. Patrick’s fifteen year background with Conrad International Hotels (Europe), Loews Hotels & Resorts (US) and Rosewood Hotels & Resorts (US & Caribbean) in various rooms, food & beverage operational positions at both line and executive levels has given him a distinctly practical perspective of hotel sales and marketing strategies. Since 2006 through his company Ocean Blue Hospitality, Patrick has conducted market studies, brand & operator selection, operations management, sales and marketing consulting and asset management for dozens of hotels & resorts for groups such as the Terra Group, Sunstone Hotel Investors, the Trump Group, and Allied Capital Partners amongst others from New York to Central America with brands such as Starwood Hotels, MGM Mirage Hospitality, Hard Rock Hotels and Preferred Hotels & Resorts. In late 2010, with a portfolio of seven properties, Patrick merged Ocean Blue Hospitality with what was then Tecton Hospitality / Desires hotels. The merged entities have been rebranded as Trust Hospitality which has partnered with Hemingway Hotels and Resorts. Patrick graduated from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, with a bachelor’s degree in Strategic Management and then obtained a degree in Hospitality Management from the Dublin Institute of Technology of Dublin, Ireland. He has earned a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) designation from the American Hotel & Lodging Association and is a member of the HSMAI. Patrick regularly speaks and participates in hotel mixed use, hospitality construction, sales and marketing and investment conferences and guest lectures at both Florida International University and Johnson & Wales University. Patrick is fluent in French and Spanish.

Michael Register is the VP of Business Development for Hemingway Hotels and Resorts and Trust Hospitality Worldwide as well as Legal Counsel. Michael is responsible for international and domestic business development and legal matters. In addition, Michael works with several investment partners to identify and source existing and new build hotel properties for acquisition or development, with a focus on emerging markets. Previously, Michael was in charge of business development and legal matters for Nikki Beach worldwide. At Nikki Beach, Michael was responsible for sourcing over 20 new hotel and other F&B development projects around the world. Prior to working in the hospitality industry, Michael was the co-founder of a successful software company that was sold to a publicly traded Swiss company. Previously he practiced international corporate and business law, including two years at the Pinheiro Neto Law Firm in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Michael received his J.D. from Cornell Law School where he was a member of the Cornell Law Review and his B.A., magna cum laude, in Latin American Studies from Vanderbilt University. Michael is fluent in Portuguese and proficient in Spanish.

Matthew Weld is a lawyer and businessman who created the Hemingway Hotel concept. A graduate of Harvard and Columbia Law School, he began his career as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York engaging in corporate and securities law, including initial public offerings, mergers and acquisitions and venture capital transactions. He then left the practice of law to engage in real estate development in New York and elsewhere and in new venture development. He cofounded and became chairman of Northeast Networks, which built a fiber optic telecommunications network in Westchester County, New York, which was sold to a national carrier. Mr. Weld’s experience in architecture, travel, literature, and new corporate ventures led to the successful development of the Hemingway Hotels and Resorts concept.

Q Centre Outback Data Centre: an internet data centre, renewable energy powered micro-grid and education-innovation hub

The story of the project


We’re raising $500,000 to plan and reach investment stage for the $350 million “Q Centre” project in Longreach in the vast north-western Outback of Queensland, Australia. “Q Centre” is an internet data centre, renewable energy powered micro-grid and education-innovation hub. Data centres provide electronic information storage services that enable internet users to upload, download, back up and access files and systems. The data centre sector in Australia is growing close to 20% a year and is routinely returning 200% on investment. One observer suggests market growth of 11% / year. One major provider suggests its own slice of this market is growing by 27% / year.

Better internet and storage services in Outback Australia mimic huge data centres being built in the Arizona desert in the United States by Google and Apple and should deliver investment, revenue, jobs and improved education to families in the region and stop the urban drift.

How the funds will be used


Most of the funds raised will go towards assembling and supporting a team of Australian experts in communications, engineering, science and education to plan the main event, the AUD$350 million “Q Centre” complex. More details can be found on our company website.

Details about my track record are on our company website. Our company has been in business since 1987 and continues to grow new products and new markets.

Challenges

First I will have to acquire and learn how to use the MakerBot for the job of fulfilling all the pledges. We’ll have to establish supply lines for the plastic, T-shirts and hats, and for packaging and for shipping. But I have long experience in learning and using the latest publishing software so I think this will work OK. The biggest challenge is in convincing power-brokers and decision makers in government and investment companies that a data centre in Longreach CAN happen and SHOULD happen. But our team members have succeeded in award-winning innovation projects before and we can do it again.

ATTORNEY ON THE MOVE: VIRTUAL LAW OFFICE

Dear friend,

The 100% pro bono project Attorney on the Move was created to intentionally go where many of us haven’t been—or where we are not “supposed” to go.

These last five months, supporters of this project have witnessed and learned from migrant farmworkers who aren’t receiving full due process rights in rural California; detainees (most without a criminal record) who are indefinitely held in a federal immigration detention center in Tacoma, WA; and members of the Blackfeet tribe in northern Montana who have been navigating a difficult legal system involving federal, state, and tribal governments. I know we all want to do more to help.

And there’s BIG NEWS: I am opening a longer-term Virtual Law Office (VLO) to increase legal services access to those who need it the most. The first step in launching this new law office is to extend Attorney on the Move until the end of 2016 and provide urgently needed legal services into America’s most impacted communities. This upcoming year’s work will not only indicate what the areas of highest need are, but will also enable me to build the infrastructure for a new, virtual legal model to reach more clients—wherever they may be.

Can you chip in for legal services to those who need it most?

At times, this journey has been uncomfortable. Challenging. Empowering. Heartbreaking. Our most marginalized communities are often hidden from mainstream view: forgotten, left behind—in a place that can be very dark. And together, we can cast some urgently needed light into that darkness.

As I am writing this to you in Salt Lake City, I am couchsurfing and making my way south to Arizona—so we can continue to see more places that need help. With your support, more immigration detention centers, reservations, and other impacted communities will receive pro bono legal support.

Minnsky’s Theater – A Vaudeville Circus Experiment: A theater in the Minneapolis NE Arts District that will harken back to a time of Vaudeville and Circus Entertainment!

The Story: 

Minnsky’s Theater is the third part of a Vaudeville Circus Fitness love affair that began with ExperTease Fitness in 2010. 

Part 1: ExperTease Fitness is an alternative gym where people of all genders come to improve their physical and mental health through dance and circus based fitness. Once they have completed their program they are given an opportunity to showcase those skills for friends and family. Our mission is to instill self confidence in every one of our students.

Part 2: If students wish to continue with their performance journey they can audition for our professional troupe the Wicked Wenches Cabaret. We have performed all throughout Minnesota including at: the Minnesota State Fair, Minnesota Pride Festival, Aria, Southern theater, Mixed Blood, Intermedia Arts etc. We produce a full length theatrical performance every 8 weeks and have gained a strong following in 5 years.

Part 3: As we have expanded we have come to realise that we have outgrown available performance spaces. We are creating 30 shows a year and are looking to add more. We are ready for our own home which is why we are bringing Minnsky’s to life.

As the vaudeville/circus community grows in Minnesota and the Midwest, we want to create a space equipped to handle these aerial and variety focused performances. With tall ceilings, safe rigging and an intimate setting. As a part of the NE arts district Minnsky’s is poised to be a center hub for all the circus schools and troupes springing up. 

We are also working on another collaborative project to add to our roster: Cirque De Lune. It would be a intimate cirque style performance group that created family friendly works to give Minnesota a permanent and ongoing cirque style show to attend. We would bring memorable fairytales to life and create original works based on the history of our amazing state. 

We would also welcome outside dramatic works, traditional dance and experimental theater. We want to foster creativity with an accessible and affordable space for the independent theater companies.  Minnesota needs additional space for theater groups to use on a rental basis. 

Finally, we hope to create a beautiful and glamorous setting for the people of Minnesota to utilize. We feel there is a niche for more intimate spaces to host weddings and special events. One that can work within reasonable budgets but still create a sense of magic, elegance and wonder. 

What We Have: 

A Space: We are in final negotiations to take over an active theater in NE Minneapolis . It has 17′-19′ ceilings, seating for 100-200, free parking and is already set up as a performance space. 

The Works: Luckily we have been collecting items big and small for 3 years working toward this goal. We already have: Risers, staging, lights, lighting board, sound system, lounge furniture, curtains, decorations and mirrors. 

The Labor: We also have a HUGE host of volunteers ready and willing to jump in as soon as we can give the green light.

What We Need: 

Chairs- enough seating for 200 people

Tables- 30 or so for special events.

Linen- for performances and special events. A base set in black and white.

Dimmer Packs- the last piece to the lighting system. These provide the power and control for each individual lighting instrument.  They are essential pieces of the puzzle and because we want to use only high quality & safe equipment- quite expensive. 

Remodeling: The space is currently unfinished and would need some elbow grease and finishing material such as: wallpaper, lighting fixtures, flooring, cleaning supplies, signage etc.
