joli will be an inviting neighborhood kitchen bringing downtown dining to NW 65th Street. Our menu will reflect French, Italian and Mediterranean influences with a nod to the Riviera. Using the best ingredients from here and abroad, we will feature French and local wines, house made pastries, and artisan chocolate. <<SAMPLE MENU>>

Chef Amy Beaumier

Seattle native Amy Beaumier is committed to creating elevated food with high quality ingredients in a comfortable and elegant space where our neighbors can relax and have a glass of wine or enjoy a special evening out.

Chef Amy most recently headed the kitchen at Belltown’s Bell & Whete, with previous engagements at Local 360, BOKA Restaurant + Bar, Altura, and Dragonfish Asian Cafe.

Management Team

Christopher & Camille Yamka

Chris is excited to bring downtown dining to the 65th Street Corridor, between Ballard and Phinney Ridge, in Seattle. A veteran manager of Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge, Bastille Cafe & Bar, and Local 360, he brings twenty years of restaurant management and accounting experience to the table, along with finish carpentry skills. <<BIO>>

Camille is also a twenty-year restaurant management professional. She has bartended, served and managed – at corporate Seattle restaurants Schwartz Brothers and Anthony’s Home Port, and transitioned a Bellevue wine bar into a successful full service lounge. Most recently Camille has worked for chef owned restaurants such as Monsoon, Terra Plata and Roux. Her mission is to build a community restaurant where the neighborhood can get a quality experience without going downtown, a place where longterm gainful (tip sharing) employment balances efforts of all employees. <<BIO>>

Janet Eicher & Cameron Johnston

Janet and her husband Cam opened Chocolat Vitale five years ago at the corner of 65th St and 3rd Avenue North, a stone’s throw from the joli location. She loves the area and wants to transform the corner into a destination for the neighborhood and beyond. Janet is contributing her eye for design, experience doing business here, and her talent for navigating permits and other red tape. <<BIO>>

Cam is experienced in high-end commercial construction, and having been involved in dozens of similar projects, he is confident about joli. He is looking forward to creating a place where people will want to go and enjoy themselves, himself included. <<BIO>>

The Space

The space at 618 NW 65th Street has been a mystery in the neighborhood, hidden behind iron gates while serving as a ground floor residence. It requires a full buildout, but that provides us with the opportunity to customize it to our specifications.

Kitchen: an exposed kitchen with state of the art equipment which has been sourced at a fraction of its normal cost.

Interior: comfortable seating for 52 diners, with a ten seat bar. Exposed architectural details and rotating art displays.

Exterior: cosmetic improvements to coordinate with the new interior.

The Neighborhood

This area has been known as West Woodland, Phinney Gulch, Gilman Park subdivision, Stumbletown, North Ballard – former home to sailors on shore leave, and now treasured for its side streets lined with vintage Craftsman homes. The stretch of storefronts along NW 65th Street is home to bars, boutiques and cafes, but is missing a comfortable fine dining spot.

Why Your Support is Important

Like many restaurant projects, we are building joli with our own financial resources (cash/credit) and the sweat of our own brows. Ironically, the coming months prior to opening, while no revenue is coming in, are the most costly! Your support will help us meet our obligations, reduce our carrying costs, and keep us from having to skimp on any details. Our goal to achieve funding is $30,000 but we’re hoping to surpass that with your support.

Read more about what is coming up and our progress so far!

Our supporters will get updates, rewards, and GRATITUDE!
