Matisse the cat

Tickly Whiskers Publishing Limited is an independent children’s picture book publisher established in 2011 and based in Herefordshire. Our main brand and character is Matisse the cat, www.matissethecat.com We currently have 6 book titles (more are in the pipeline) and an audio CD.  Our products are sold through a network of independent retailers such as children’s shops, gift shops, farm shops and garden centres. We have over 85 retailers selling our product range with more added every month.

To support our retailers, develop the Matisse the Cat brand and compliment our product range, we are looking to manufacture a Matisse the Cat plush toy (see attached picture).  We have had a prototype made and presented it to our retailers  are they are very keen to start selling it on our behalf. In addition, we need to have more books printed for next year to meet increased demand and for new titles.

We are looking to raise £60,000 to cover the cost of manufacturing 4,000 plush toys (£24,000), print 16,000 books (£24,000) and attend 2016 gift and book exhibitions such as the Spring Fair at the NEC to promote our brand and products to a wider audience (£12,000).
