“No Small Parts: Josh Perry,” A Documentary About a Down Syndrome Actor

WHO ARE YOU?
My name is Brandon Hardesty, and I’m a 28-year-old actor living in Los Angeles.

WHAT IS THIS PROJECT?
This campaign is to help raise funds for a single episode of my documentary web-series, No Small Parts, which is about character actors in the entertainment industry. I’ve been making this series for the past year-and-a-half, and I love doing it. It’s my side-hobby in between acting jobs and auditions. Thanks to word of mouth and a few good blurbs on various news websites and social media, my channel has garnered nearly 8,000 subscribers, and over 200,000 views. 

Normally, I work with no budget. For this particular episode, I want to do this right and actually interview the subject, get some footage, and put together an episode of No Small Parts that I think will really resonate with people. 

The episode will be about Josh Perry, who is arguably the most successful working actor with Down Syndrome in the business today. I met Josh and his brother Scott years ago and we’ve kept in touch. They love the idea of doing an episode about Josh, and are completely open to me interviewing them and their family in Lafayette, Louisiana. 

HOW WILL THE MONEY BE SPENT?
The budget is $5,000. Here’s a breakdown:

$1800 – Plane Tickets
$500 – Hotel Room for Four Nights
$900 – Living Expenses (to replace income we’ll miss from work)
$800 – Food Money
$200 – Car Rental
$360 – Rockethub Commission Fee
$180 – Rockethub Credit Card Handling Fee
$260 – Safety Money, just in case
