The World Collage – Juxtaposed photo stories across 4 continents

A collection of photo-stories across the world with unique insightful descriptions, juxtaposing cultures with a focus on socio-economic issues across Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America.

The World Collage, a photo-book with 142 juxtaposed photo-stories across 4 continents is now being crowdfunded on the indiegogo platform. It has already raised 27% ($2600) of its $10000 funding goal from 92 backers. The lead campaigner Mrunal Gawade is a scientist / artist based in Amsterdam, Netherlands, with his education across 3 continents (BE- India, MS- USA, PhD- Netherlands). The book portrays his acute observations during his world travels with a focus on socio-economic awareness as seen through his camera,  and compares the stories across cultures,  natural, and manmade schemes.

Though cultures differ, the humanity across the world is still bound by a common thread of kindness, helpfulness, love, and various such qualities. Though natural and manmade beauties such as bodies of water, mountains, institutes of learning, architectures change across different geographical boundaries, similarities can still be found in their abstract forms.  The world is like a large collage connected through the threads binding the humanity, the natural and the manmade schemes in their different manifestations.

The photo-book is an ideal gift for socio-economic-thinkers, cultural explorers, travel lovers, and architecture lovers, as the festive season approaches. It could be also used as a coffee-table book. It has a strong focus on socio-economic issue awarness across cultures. Some of the photos could be very intriguing and will definitely leave you pondering, to question the way societies across the world function. So you get some food for thought. Some stories might inspire you to visit these new places, or might bring back those fond memories, if been there already.

The lead campaigner Mrunal Gawade is a Computer Scientist with an artistic passion. Being a researcher, he gets to travel across the world and always tries to reason his observations. Photography allows him to capture his observations through the precise moments. He has been very active in raising socio-economic issues in the past, and this book allows him to convey the related stoties.

Photography credentials – Being an avid painter (all India level gold medalist) during school days, Mrunal has a great eye for photo composition. He is a self taught photographer and has contributed his photographs to exhibition in Istanbul, front covers of a UK based book publisher, coffee table book editorials in India, getty image invitations for stock photography, friend’s wedding albums in Netherlands and India, his scientific institute’s magazine and library archives in Amsterdam.

img_24869993163138.jpeg

THE “PLAN METHOD”:

a group of Italian designers, architects, construction developers, working with passion in the real estate.

Over thirty years of experience have culminated in the 5 steps of the Real Estate Global management PLAN METHOD:

A. looking for exclusive properties of historical and artistic value (costs incurred by PLAN);

B. investor assistance in the purchase of the property (costs incurred by PLAN);

C. feasibility study, design, promotion and fractionated resale of the property (costs incurred by PLAN);

D. customized restoration of the portions resold (costs incurred by PLAN);

E. profit-sharing of the restoration contracts with the investor, without supply of equity of the latter.

You hold the guarantee, we take the risks.

We select operations with very high ROI, with double profit for the investor:

1. from the resale of the property to restore;

2. from the sharing of the restoration contracts (without supply of equity by the investor);

Global PLAN Real Estate method is:

– the ideal solution for funds, medium or big investors, crowdfunding platforms to acquire new assets;

– the best way to enhance property values without to add equity and to optimize the liquidation of the funds.

EVPA Conference Collaborates for Social Impact

Panorama-Brandenburg-Gate-In-Berlin-Germany-Desktop-Wallpaper

BERLIN, Germany — The Soho Loft Media Group supported the annual philanthropy conference organized by the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA) on 17-18 November 2014 in Berlin.

The 10th Annual EVPA Conference took place in Berlin, Germany. Over 500 attendees at the conference – social investors, venture philanthropists, academicians and other supporting organizations from across Europe and other parts of the globe converged in varied locations within Pariser Platz, a square in the middle of Berlin, in Brandenburger Tur to discuss the theme, ‘Collaborating for Social Impact: the next 10 years’.

Oliver Gadja, co-founder of European Crowdfunding Network, moderated the panel that highlighted the best practices and challenges of crowdfunding. It all pieced together the opportunities that crowdfunding offers in scaling impact investing and philanthropy and in reaching beyond high-net worth individuals and accredited investors.

As the Founder and Chairman of Victoria Global, The Soho Loft Media Group and LDJ Capital, David Drake says, “Philanthropy and impact investing are the backbones of crowdfunding. The internet and the online crowdfunding platforms on giving have magnified the ways and means that can reach anyone from all over the world, both those who need financial assistance and those who want to send their aid and seed fund in a fast and effective way. The offline advocates of a cause or social enterprise have to take their support online to serve as the water that will prime the pump.”

The conference agenda consisted of joint and thematic breakout sessions focussed on varied topics that include crowdfunding, government regulations, family philanthropy and measuring its impact. Day one focused more on reflecting and learning from the past 10 years. The conference sessions started at 13:30pm with joint sessions featuring speeches on “Official 10th EVPA Annual Conference Opening” given by Pieter Oostlander, EVPA Chairman and “Reflecting on the Journey: the last 10 years” discussed by Jordi Vaquer, Open Society Initiative for Europe Director. These were followed by a series of breakout sessions where attendees explored topics such as “What makes a good venture philanthropy transaction?”, “Attracting more capital from Venture Philanthropy”, “Essentials of Venture Philanthropy”, “Challenges in the Venture Philanthropy Ecosystem” and much more.

On day two, attendees had more forward looking discussions geared towards setting direction for the next 10 years. Joint session discussions revolved around “Collaborating for Social Impact: The next 10 years” and “Pitching Specials” where selected organizations presented their cases. Attendees participated in breakout sessions on topics such as “Venture Philanthropy: the next 10 years”, “Harnessing G8 Momentum” and “Role of Research in Building Stronger Impact over the next 10 years”.

There were 110 conference speakers, and included:

Adele Blakebrough, CEO of Social Business Trust

Alex Budak , Country Manager of Reach for Change

Andreas Zeiselmair, Co-Founder of Mobile Hydro

Cyrille Antignac, Co-Founder of Uberis Capital

Filippo Addarii, Director of International Strategy & Head of EuropeLab, The Young Foundation

Frank van Beuningen, Founder of PYMWYMIC

Gerry Salole, Chief Executive of European Foundation Centre (EFC)

Guenther Benischek, Head of Social Banking at Erste Bank

Johan H. Andresen, Chairman of Ferd Social Entrepreneurs

Kelly Aine , Head of Financial Sector & Investor Engagement of Big Society Capital

Luciano Balbo, Founder and Chairman of Oltre Venture

Priscilla Boiardi, Research Manager of EVPA

Ron van den Akker, Innovations Manager of Child & Youth Finance International

Tanya Accone, Senior Advisor on Innovation of United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF)

Veronica Vecchi, SDA Professor of Public Management and Policy in Bocconi School of Management

The conference was organized by EVPA, an association of organizations that are either practising or are interested in social investing and venture philanthropy throughout Europe. According to EVPA’s CEO Kurt Peleman, venture philanthropy has to do with monitoring performance and impact as well as finding long-term monetary and non-monetary support.

The conference is sponsored by Allianz StiftungForum Pariser Platz, Bertelsmann Stiftung, BMW Foundation (Herbert Quandt), Bonventure, Halder , Siemens Stiftung and Vodafone Stiftung Deutschland. Media Partners for this conference are Fundraiser Magazine and Alliance .

Attendees were treated to after-conference networking dinners and drinks, as well as the celebration dinner at the Bertelsman Stiftung.

Tips on recording a crowdfunding video

cat-254572_640

Needless to say, when you are sales pitching anyone, your presentation must be professional. The same holds for crowdfunding videos. You need to produce it well, using a good camera and a good microphone to properly capture the sounds.

A GoPro camera or similar will certainly be wonderful for your video, but if you want a good sound, you better record your voice in a studio. When doing that, get a good condenser microphone that works well in the room you choose to record.

After recording your video and your voice, use a good movie editor. GoPro themselves have a good video editor, but if you don’t like it, there are many options.

Make sure your video does not look so much like advertising. Very few people like them and share them. The more you make your video look like content, the better. But keep in mind that however hard you try, it’ll still be an ad, so make it short and pass your message as soon as possible in the video.

Making your ad video content-like and shareable is possible. Look at Will it Blend videos. They had a normal boring tough blender, not much different of any other in the market. But they managed to make a good story on it, showing their blender crushing some odd objects like an iPad, cell phones (they recently blended an iPhone 6 Plus) and other items. Those videos were very successful and drove millions of views each, generating millions of dollars on sales for their creators.

Also, people tend to be more connected and engaged when they see another real person talking to them. So make sure you or an actor talks to the camera to show your presentation. He or she should look straight at the camera and have a firm, assertive voice.

Don’t forget to open your video with a relaxing intro short song, one that calms people down and make them want to watch your video.

Good videoing!

A Game Changing Wireless Charger With Telescoping Stand Launches On Indiegogo

Wireless power could reduce demand for power cables while making gadgets more durable, eliminate the need for throwaway batteries, and perhaps even accelerate the adoption of electric cars. Watchers of this embryonic market think it’s going to be huge. IMS Research estimated last year that it will be a $4.5 billion market by 2016.

*****

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – October 5, 2015 – Greg Jones founder of Ways & Means Design, has introduced their new wireless charger, Square One: SOLO, on the crowdfunding platform, Indiegogo.com.

Like many before it, Square One: SOLO allows people to charge their phone while away from a plug in power source. But unlike those other wireless chargers that focus on charging alone, Square One: SOLO offers a plethora of benefits and features that elevate it high above anything else before it, such as lighting for entertainment enhancement, a collapsible telescoping hands free stand and even multiple inputs to charge other devices simultaneously. For the first time in ONE device, Square One: SOLO offers anyone the ability to charge, entertain and increase the functionality of smart phones. For example, with Square One: SOLO, someone can use it to watch a movie one second and as a fully functional desk lamp the next.

As Greg Jones puts it, “People won’t have to just settle for waiting by the cords for their phone to charge, people can use Square One: SOLO, and enjoy all the phone has to offer while the phone is also charging. And they can use the stand when they don’t need to charge for freedom and flexibility during live video chats and conversations.”

Aside from the charging functions, Square One: SOLO features a beautiful, dimmable LED light system that will compliment Skype, Google Hangouts and any other video site users speak on. The LED lights combined with the hands free stand; also make it ideal for picture taking.
Square One: SOLO is a game changer, folks. It’s that simple!

In order to jump-start the campaign, Team Square One is offering 300 Square One: SOLO for only $55 each. That’s a full $14 discount on the full price of $69.

“We’re really excited to be launching our campaign”, says Greg. “With features anyone can use, in such a user friendly device, everyone from world travelers to busy soccer moms will be able to rest easy knowing they can charge their phone and be ready for anything with their Square One.”

The Indiegogo campaign gives people a comprehensive look at what this revolutionary device is all about. For more information, visit: http://igg.me/at/square1

NEW YORK — Victoria Global supported the European Business Angels Network (EBAN) Conference from 17-18 November 2014 organized by FiBAN in Helsinki, Finland.

The EBAN Helsinki 2014 European Business Angels Network conference’s main theme was “ICT, Mobile, and Games”. It brought together more than 350 participants that included venture capitalists, EBAN members, angel network members, and upcoming entrepreneurs from Europe and beyond. On November 17th, they met for sector-based sessions, sharing and networking at the Scandic Marina Congress Center in Katajanokanlaituri 7, Helsinki. The conference enabled international investors to share success stories and best practices in angel investing. According to Victoria Global, LDJ Capital, and The Soho Loft Media Group Founder and Chairman David Drake, “The potential of crowdfunding as a market is growing rapidly particularly when Europe gets its education to the masses and marketing going. Crowdfunding empowers the crowd as much as it empowers the individual.” He adds, “The focus of branding is shifting towards the individual. Crowdfunding includes individual choices before products are developed and packaged.”

The agenda for the two-day conference comprised opportunities for international investors to network and attend Master Classes. Attendees participated in sector-based discussions on day one of the conference ahead of the opening ceremony. Concurrent sessions on varied themes and networking sessions were held. According to Candace Johnson, EBAN’s President, “EBAN uses success stories to enhance the skills of European investors and entrepreneurs. How to do content marketing for crowdfunding

blog-793047_640

In our previous article we explained why content marketing is important for your crowdfunding campaign. Now we are going to tell you how to do it more effectively.

Content marketing for crowdfunding is not just a video. That’s the basics. You should definitely do it, but if you want to grow your audience and expose yourself to more business opportunities and sales, you must take action in all fronts possible while keeping your campaign cost effective.

First and foremost, you should have a blog. Hire a reputable professional company or writer to post for you, and be assured they copy check and fact check every piece of content. It is your reputation that is at stake, so carefully examine everything in the beginning. Be assured that most of the content you publish in your blog stays in it. Don’t just post your articles everywhere on the web. Original content is important if you want to rank in Google.

Then, you should get links to it. We are not talking just about a Facebook page, although mixing them together is certainly a good idea. Do some guest posts in well known blogs with established audiences (though Google has advised against it, if you don’t optimize anchors in your articles, you should be okay). Make people know your site is alive.

Promote your content. It looks strange, but buying Adwords and promoting your posts in Facebook is a cost effective way to grow your visibility exponentially. Plus, by doing it you’ll gain followers, shares, likes and possibly links, all of which combined with good user experience signals can boost your rankings in search engines. And you definitely want those rankings.

Just as you shouldn’t neglect SEO, you shouldn’t neglect social media as well. Be present in every media that matters to your business. Make sure you properly post to each channel, with the right titles to entice people to read your articles. You can and should automate everything you can, by installing a plugin like nextScripts in your WordPress blog to publish your posts in every social media channel. Then create each post thinking about one or more specific social media channels. Here are some tips:

  • Facebook users love videos and images. Make sure your automatic posts plugin properly grabs media in your posts to publish on the channel. People using Facebook are mostly in their smartphones and in leisure time, but bear in mind that many people use it professionally or to read news as well. So your titles should appeal to your public, to the people profile that follows your page
  • Instagram users love images, but you can post short videos (3 to 15 seconds) as well. People use it mostly in leisure time, so make sure your posts are attractive to people in that mindset.
  • Linkedin users love career related articles. You can use Pulse to boost your articles but you can get better results if your posts are related to that public. Make sure your titles are serious, provocative and instructional in nature. It is a good idea to set up your plugin to post automatically only from a given category.
  • Twitter is mostly about text: your title must be well crafted to your audience. Twitter is used by all types of people, though it tends a little towards influencers. That’s why you shouldn’t neglect it.

Last, hire a PR agency, like iCrowdNewsWire. Companies like ours have journalists and strong social media influencers in our database, so by hiring us you can make sure your content reaches people who can write about you in high traffic vehicles. This will increase the chances that you get larger exposure and help your SEO, by making your blog more likely to get links from reputable sources. iCrowdNewsWire is specialized in press release distribution for crowdfunding and SMEs, so we are the best channel on the internet to leverage your content marketing efforts.
